Land Sports

Our covered pavilion offers a variety of options in programming. Whether it is being used for basketball, volleyball, scooter races, parachute games or just hanging out, a covered facility offers a lot of opportunities within a camp setting.

On rainy days, it can host a large portion of our campers as well. We complete our opening and closing day registrations within the shade of the pavilion.

YMCA CAMP PINE TREE

Camp Pine Tree, a 45-acre tract of land located near Old Town Spring at 711 Riley Fuzzle Road, has been sold to the Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County. Harris County Commissioner’s Court approved the transaction June 23, 2009. The land is currently slated by the two entities for flood control purposes and for the Spring Creek Greenway Project, a partnership between Harris and Montgomery counties. The project, which aims to connect and protect up to 12,000 acres on either side of Spring Creek, intends the property for ecotourism, education and recreation. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the capital development plan of YMCA Camping Services, which includes renovations and upgrades to Camp Cullen.

The YMCA of Greater Houston remains committed to supporting some 12,000 young people annually through a variety of camping programs and services.

You can still view some great camp photos from Summer 2009 at YMCA Camp Pine Tree.
