Facilities

Nestled among the tall pines on 530 acres along the shores of Lake Livingston, YMCA Camp Cullen offers boys and girls ages 8-16 the experience of a lifetime. Campers at Camp Cullen take part in a wide range of water sports, horseback riding, climbing on the ropes course, nature, drama and so much more. In addition to the many fun activities available, the campers also gather as a cabin group each day where they play, learn and bond together while participating in fun activities like campfires and scavenger hunts.

Facilities at YMCA Camp Cullen include:
Amphitheatre
Bath Houses
Cabins
Indoor Chapel
Infirmary
The Cullen Carriage
The Dining Hall
The Dock

Amphitheatre
The amphitheatre area will seat up to 400 at a time. The stage is approximately 10 x 18 with steps the full width of the front and access from the side via another stairway.

Bath Houses
Our restroom facilities are a short walk from our cabins. There are 12 showers, 4 restrooms and at least 3 sinks in each bath house. Each bath house is shared by 5 cabins, one bath house for the younger 5 cabins and one for the older 5.

Cabins
Our cabins are an A-frame style with 16 beds. They are air-conditioned and heated for comfort in a variety of conditions. We have 10 cabins on each of our two ridges for a total of 20.
For our CILTs, we have separate housing near the ridge with the other campers.

Indoor Chapel
The Chapel makes a great place for church services, but it can be used for additional meeting space. Seating is available for up to 75 in chairs or 100 on the floor.

During the summer and weekends, we use this area for candle making as well.

Infirmary
Our infirmary stocks a wide variety of over-the-counter medication, as well as supplies for minor emergencies. A nurse is on duty during all summer camp hours and throughout the week while HISD students are in camp with our Outdoor Education program.

The Cullen Carriage
The Cullen Carriage offers a great service for our campers. Camp is a large, sprawling canvas of tall pine trees, but time is of the essence. For our time sensitive activities at the waterfront, we use the Carriage to transport those campers from main camp.

The Dining Hall

The Dining Hall can seat up to 320 per meal. The dining hall features two independent serving lines to facilitate speedy meals, or we can also do family style meals as well.

The Dock
Our dock is complete with three boat lifts and four additional slips for our boats during the summer. Many activities launch from the dock each hour during the summer: sailing, skiing, tubing and the banana boat. Occasionally participants at our family camps want to bring a boat, so it is nice to have a place to tie up that is secure from the shore.
